A few days ago, I found my truenas service was suspended due to some error. The error in shell is like MIDDLEWARE FAILED TO START, SYSTEM WILL NOT BEHAVE CORRECTLY! and some error, the system just suspend in status of restarting truenas network. I just restart the whole host (pve) and then everything looks fine.

However, today I encounter a critical error

and a lot of notifications about:
Core files for the following executables were found: /usr/sbin/collectd

My dataset (firstpool) is totally gone, it remains three disks from orignal dataset.

I'm new to truenas scale , I will be very grateful if someone knows how to solve this problem!!
Thank you~~

How are you providing disks to the TrueNAS Proxmox VE VM? If you provided virtual disks or passed through physical disks, you've used an incorrect method known to cause data loss.

I use the method of pass through hardware, like command : qm set 100 –sata1 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST1000DM003-1CH162_S1D8F613.
I just follow someone tutorial...
ask another way, how can I recover in this situation

Do you have backups? Worst case, your pool is unrecoverable. If not, you might be able to recover by destroying this VM, creating a new VM, and then importing the pool of 3 disks.

Do not add these disks to a pool, that will permanently destroy your existing pool. Rather, click the button that says Import Pool.

Do not assume someone's random tutorial is correct. Before you run TrueNAS as a VM, understand it on bare metal first.

Ok thank you so much, do you mean the backup of disk content? Unfortunately ,I don't have it...
I will try creating a new vm latter.
Actually I want to learn both pve and truenas,so choosing such method.

Why are you putting valuable data on a test system?

Umm, It's a homelab, not a production environment. It's a wrong decision I know now..

I tried creating a new vm and import the origin pool, but fail. Should I just create a new pool and try to import them?

Let's try importing via the CLI, which will allow us to use stronger options: zpool import -R /mnt -f -F firstpool.

I think it come back!!! Thank you so much!!
I will make a snapshot or backup of my data later.
BTW, I uploaded my config and then got the Web UI HTTPS certificate setup failed error, should I just ignore it or it is related with my Certificates setting (acme)? I should delete my setting and then create a new one? Thank you!!
