System Degraded - Cannot ID which drive at fault

Howdy, folks.
You can see in the attached JPGs that I have (5) 3TB drives now running in a degraded status.
Most recent long SMART tests show no issues.
Older SMART tests showed a one-time issue with ada1 but that drive now is passing long SMART tests.
Likewise, some months ago ada3 had a one-time failure but the status showed degraded for only a short period of time. After subsequent SMART tests volume status showed "online".
I included any screen shot I thought will help.
I have the adax and corresponding drive serial numbers but do not know how to drill down on the degraded status to know what action to take.

The SMART test runs internal to the drive, so there is no reason you can't run them all simultaneously. You should run a short test daily and a long test only once a week. Still, it is good that you are running tests. Looks like one of your drives is failing. The thing to do now is look at the results of the test. You do that by running the command smartctl -x /dev/ada1 and you could post the results here if you want help deciphering it. Just put the text inside code tags like this: [CODE] listing here [/CODE].
It should come out looking kind of like this:

PS. Do you have your NAS configured so you can SSH into it with something like PuTTY?

It makes troubleshooting much easier.

Ah, HA! I see why a telnet session has it's advantages! Is there a way in the GUI to capture the command text output? In the meantime, looking into SSH

It looks like you have this straightened out. Just be sure to add the replacement disk back into the list of disks to run SMART tests against. When you do a disk replacement, the new drive is not automatically added into that.

Speaking of old disks, I have a server at work that is still rocking some 6.2 year old drives, but it is generally a good idea to replace drives around the five year mark because they are somewhat more likely to fail after that point.
