One issue im encountering (and cant find any forum or google info on ), is why truenas v12 is sending so little information out via syslog? (in my case to a local splunk server).
I have ofcouse tried Debug and "is debug" log levels but im still not getting many important items (such as configuration changes, or replication task info events) - much less info is provided as compared to syslog on FN v11.x .
for example, i have several replication tasks running, however i see nothing about these in the syslog output. (but there is great replication logs in
/var/log/zettarepl.log ( ie: tail -n20 /var/log/zettarepl.log ).
what i am seeing in syslog are lots of nginx / webserver entries, and SMART data (both are good). Also cron entries
Do i have a misconfig on my end? or what are others experiences with v12 and syslog output?
(i assume if i make any changes to /etc/syslog.conf -- such as adding monitoring of /var/log/zettarepl.log
that they will be wiped on reboot )
thanks
