Hi all,

I haven't been on here for a while, merely to avoid being a nuisance(!).

I feel fairly confident, but just wanted to check with the very competent folk before commencing. Due to power concerns, I'm having to re-arrange my hardware.

I would like to swap around two physical pools that reside in two separate machines/installs. One replicates to the other, both TrueNAS Core instances are the same version, am I correct in thinking that I need to:

1. Save the config of each machine.
2. Physically swap the drives
3. Re-install TrueNAS (same version)
4. Import config
5. Done.

So just to clarify (existing arrangement):

Server 1, Pool 1
Server 2, Pool 2

new arrangement:

Server 1, Pool 2
Server 2, Pool 1

Thank you in advance,

Chris

Well, I'm guessing that as there's been no response for a while, my method must be OK.

Yes, it should be fine. The only caveat would be if the two systems are using different network hardware, in which case you may need to reconfigure the network settings on one or both systems.

Thank you Dan, I hadn't taken that into consideration. I believe they're both using Intel 10G NICS, but I will check and make sure they're identical.

Very much appreciated.
