Hello,

System specs:
HP Microserver Gen8
CPUs: Intel G1610t
RAM: 16GB 1333 ECC - Kingston
Boot Drive: 2x Sandisk 32GB USB drives in a mirror
HDDs: 2x WD Black , 2x SG all in Mirroring + 1x WD640

I just updated from 9.10.2-U6 to 11.1-U7 and then to the latest stable version of FreeNAS 11.2-U7 and i noticed a difference in swap utilization from 10GB to 4GB .

No plugins or jails.

Is it a normal behavior or should i worry.

Thank you.

I think FreeNAS used to take 2GB (or whatever you've configured it to use) from each disk and stripe them for swap. There was a recent change (maybe 11.2? maybe one of the U updates?) that switched swap to be constructed from paired mirrors. If you have 5 drives I wouldn't be surprised if you used to see 10GB swap and now see 4GB. I can't explain that bump to 12GB though.
