So I bought a Supermicro X11SSH-F board a few months ago and have been playing around with FreeNAS until I can buy all of the hard drives. I do have a strange question about this board though.. The motherboard itself seems very nice - I've never owned a board with IPMI support. However, it literally takes 20 minutes to boot this thing up (with or without the OS). This is the time it takes until I get POST beeps and can access the BIOS if I wanted to.

I have tried changing BIOS settings, including completely disabling UEFI boot, but nothing seems to make a difference. I don't have any image mounted either.
Loading times are as follows:
1 minute "IPMI Initialization..."
2 minutes "SB Initialization..."
16 minutes - "Intel Reference Code Execution..."

Hardware:
MB: Supermicro X11SSH-F
RAM: 16GB (Supermicro tested)
CPU: Pentium G4400

BIOS Version : 1.0 (came with 1.0)
Firmware Revision : 01.11 (updated recently, didn't reduce load times)

Did you try updating the BIOS?
I've read in the past similar issues fixed after a BIOS upgrade.

I'll try updating the BIOS and we'll see. :)
I also have a problem with Noctua fans spinning up and down even though I have set new thresholds through ipmitool, so yeah.. another reason to update BIOS.

EDIT: So updating the BIOS did the trick! It's now POSTing in under a minute. I'll try messing around with ipmitool again to see whether I can get fans to spin at normal speed without cycling.
