Bios release notes for X10SRL
If anybody is looking for them.
I updated using IPMI.

Here is the list of bios fix.

BIOS Checksum: 9360171eh
BIOS Change:

1. Updated Intel RC 1.17.
Description: Grantley platform PLR9.1.
Validation: Use PCI.exe to check Bus<0x7F,0xFF>/Device<0x10>/Function<0x07>/Reg<0x90>.
Please check Bus<0x7Fh> if two CPU attached and Bus<0xFFh> if only one CPU attached.

2. Updated Intel LT-SX ACM modules 2.2.
Description: Intel released new PW version of ACM modules for TPM 2.0 supported.
Validation: a) Run ServerTXTINFO.EEI in UEFI Shell and check the test result. Please provisioning TPM
module.
b) Run tBOOT OS and check OS bootup successfully.

3. Update Intel Xeon micro-code for Haswell-EP.
- Rev 36 for Intel Xeon E5-2600 V3 C0,1/M0,1/R2.
Description: Intel released new microcode for Haswell-EP CPU enhanced NVDIMM support.
Validation: Check BIOS Setup menu with Haswell-EP CPU for microcode revision.

4. Updated SPS firmware to 3.0.7.173
Description: Intel released PLR9 SPS F/W for Grantley platform.
Validation: a)Enter Setup menu to check the ME revision is 3.0.7.173.
b)Check SPS functions like Node management.

5. Updated Intel SATA/sSATA RAID PreOS option ROM and UEFI driver to v4.3.0.1018.
Description: Intel released SATA/sSATA option ROM and UEFI driver v4.3.0.1018.
Validation: a)Enabled Intel SATA/sSATA RAID mode and connect two or more SATA HDDs, check the RAID
option ROM banner revision number during POST.
b)Enabled Intel SATA/sSATA and change OpROM policy to "UEFI", check the driver
shows up under Advanced page.
c)Follow UEFI/legacy OS installation SOP to install OS.

6. Fixed BMC network related settings in BIOS setup menu not sync with real condition problem.
Description: Use IPMI tool to change the BMC network configuration but BIOS did not reflect the updates.
Validation: Use IPMI tool to change toe BMC network configuration and check BIOS setup menu information after reboot.

7. Fixed CPU usage is very high in RHEL 7.0 when switched Hyper-Threading setting.
Description: CPU usage is very hign in RHEL 7.0 even system is in idle.
Validation: Check CPU usage in RHEL w/ HT enabled/disabled.

8. Don't allow customer enter BIOS setup menu w/o enter password with user competence if only supervisor password set.
Description: Enhanced the system security and follow company BIOS password behavior.
Validation: Set supervisor password for BIOS setup but not user password, enter setup menu and verify the password behavior.

9. Improve the NVDIMM code and supported Viking NVDIMM.
Description: Added new NVDIMM vendor support and combined with original NVDIMM support code.
Validation: Check NVDIMM functions w/ Viking and other vendors and works without problem.


10. Set XHCI default disabled in setup menu for old Redhat hang 6.x issue.
Description: This is known OS issue, we enabled before and waiting OS to fix it but no update from OS side.
BIOS side still temporary disable it to avoid customer facing the OS hang problem.
Validation: Doing cburn stress test w/ XHCI disabled and pass the spec.

11. Fixed boot override has blank spaces between boot devices after changing boot mode select.
Description: Legacy boot devices should be disabled and remove from boot override when boot mode select uEFI.
Validation: Enter setup menu then change boot mode select from dual to uEFI, save and reboot the system.
Enter setup menu to check the boot override only have uEFI boot device and no blank space in between.


12. Fixed VMware cannot detect Qlogic QLE3442 10G NIC (Broadcom BCM57840 NetXtreme II 10G Ethernet) when above 4G enabled.
Description: VMWare can't detect Qlogic QLE3442 if the memory resource assign above 4G, assign under 4G.
Validation: Plugged Qlogic QLE3442 10G NIC and enable "Above 4G decode" in setup, boot into VMWare and make sure the
device is detected.

13. Fixed USB Key (USB HDD type) can't boot to DOS when 4K Native HDD attached.
Description: 4K Native HDD only support uEFI.
Validation: a) Boot to USB key (HDD Type) with Windows98 DOS or FreeDOS w/o problem.
b) Install, boot and access files with uEFI OS on 4KN drive w/o problem.
c) Install, boot and access files with legacy OS on other drive w/o problem

14. UEFI LAN driver loading rule changed.
Description: LAN uEFI driver doesn't link with network stack item.
Validation: a) Switch LAN option ROM to uEFI to make sure LAN uEFI driver loaded.
b) Enabled network stack and test uEFI PXE and iSCSI function.


15. SATA frozen state issue.
Description: Fixed the SATA frozen state can show the BIOS setup menu.
Validation : Use the AmiBCPTool to modify the BIOS image rom file, set the "ShowSataFrozen" item to enable,
then save and exit to BIOS image file, use the BIOS image bootup, enter the BIOS setup menu,
choose the Advanced -> Chipset Configuration -> South Bridge page, we must see the "SataFrozen"
setup item.

16. Add UEFI boot option.
Description: Fixed the abnormally the add UEFI boot option symptom.
Validation : 1) Plug in PE bootable USB.
2) Add new boot option and Path to BOOTX64.EFI (in USB).
3) Then the New UEFI boot option and is added and showed in Boot Override list.
4) Save Change and reset, then boot into F11 boot menu.

17. BIOS Resilience mode to support IPMI recovery mode.
Description: IPMI can support the BIOS recovery BIOS function.
Validation : Open a browser window enter the IPMI remote web interface, choose the Miscellaneous -> BIOS Resillence,
apply the [Resile] bottom.


18. Fixed the uEFI iSCSI function fail.(PBID:65288 )
Description: BIOS cannot add the attempt on iSCSI item on setup menu.
Validation : Adding the iSCSI attempt successful.
