Hello,
not really related to Truenas but I assume ppl have experience from supermicro here. If this is wrong part of forum to ask please move thread.
I have a kabylake(g4560) CPU and I don't know if the supermicro motherboard I ordered X11SSM-F has 2.00+ BIOS installed which is required for kabylake support.
However this motherboard has ipmi which you should be able to update BIOS through.
I can find zero docs on supermicros webpage related to this.
questions:
1. Can i get into IPMI without a cpu installed?
2. Will ipmi even be online with a consumer grade PSU(corsair vs550) without starting the computer? Or do I need to start computer or how does that work?
I am in uncharted old hardware DIY territory here :)
Thanks
