I have a FreeNAS 8.04 Release x64 with C2D 3.06GHz and 10GB RAM with 4 EARX drives in RAID-Z.
Client is Win7 x64 with 8 GB RAM.

Using dd on server I have >150 MB/s read/write
Using iPerf I have almost 1000 Mbit rx/tx between freenas and the client

Using Robocopy and Crystal diskmark I have approx 65 MB/s from Freenas and 110 MB/s to FreeNAS.

Then monitoring transfer to FreeNAS the performance is stable according to network monitor in WIndows 7 but read performance almost seems locked to 50% (of 1000 Mbit). The client has a SSD-drive as system drive....I´m transferring a 5 GB file...

Is it realistic to have half performance FROM FreeNAS than TO? I have not made any tuning so I´m running default settings with 10GB RAM since I heard x64 manages everything in its own...

Actually Survive__ and jive in the IRC channel solved the puzzle. The problem was that the SSD write could not write faster than 70MB/s... It just never crossed my mind that the SSD would be the cause!
