Hello,

for the reasons of:

  1. mode of operation
  2. energy consumption saving
  3. disk preservation
I want to run my system with the option of standby / quick resume without powering down and re-booting.

Is there an easier way to achive the standby mode other than the login to either Shell or Web Interface?

Like a FreeBSD standby timer by default ?

sysctl hw.acpi acpiconf -s 3

do work - kind off.

Another issue:

Shutting down the system will sometimes fail to power it off - it keeps running after all the USB devices have been unmounted.

Wake on LAN I need to investigate further.

OK,

I got the WOL / Wake On Lan part working:

in UEFI:

Step3: Switch to Advanced page, select ACPI Configuration, change PCIE Devices Power On to Enabled.

still not working properly:

acpiconf -s 3 > Suspend to RAM > auto reset system
acpiconf -s 4 > Suspend to Disk > auto reset system
