We have been using a TrueNAS Z35 system for a while.
It is unfortunately beyond its warranty and support period.
The specs currently are:

Hardware Platform: TrueNAS-Z35-Node-R
Version: TrueNAS-12.0-U8.1
10Gbps network via Cisco switch.

One of the pools is shared out both as an AFP share as well as an SMB share. ~300TB capacity.
Multiple Windows 10 and Mac OS X clients access the shares; Windows clients via SMB and Macs via AFP.

For several months we have been experiencing an issue with file transfers on Windows clients. Mac clients don't experience the issue.

Some files (usually large files 20-200GB) will fail to transfer on Windows clients at 99% mark.
This issue is happening for a small subset of all files on the share.
For files that do have this issue, if they are included in any file transfer operation, the transfer fails once it gets to the file in question.

Problem files aren't transferable to any Windows client, even to new Windows 10 VM just created for testing.
Problem files transfer without issues on Mac clients. Testing the files, they are not corrupted in any way. TrueNAS doesn't report any issues on the files/pool.

One solution that fixes the issue :
If we copy the problem files using TrueNAS CLI (shell) to any location within the share, the issue gets resolved.
Moving the file doesn't resolve the issue.

We have millions of files, tens of thousands of files have this issue. Manually going through and copying them isn't a viable solution.

Please help!

You need to see what is written in the TrueNAS console and Windows event logs at the time of the error first, and post what you can here.
