I retired my tried and true LGA 1155 Intel S1200BTL motherboard paired with an E3-1230 4 Core/8 Thread CPU with Zalman 9500 and 4 x 8GB 1066mhz ECC UDIMMS. I also shuffled around my data and ditched 4 x 2TB SATA drives and replaced them with one single 2TB SAS drive (to go with my various other drives). I also ditched my tried and true non-recommended USB to SATA cable for my boot drive now that I have open SATA ports again to plug in directly.

I took a chance on some of my "new" hardware .. and I'm sure you will never see this motherboard on any recommended hardware lists posted by our server guru's here ... But! .. it works .. and it's working great.

I repurposed, with help from Noctua giving me a free LGA 2011 adapter, a Noctua heatsink I originally acquired to use on my Ryzen CPU in my main rig ..

- Mobo : x79T Chinese LGA 2011 B75 Chipset w/ Realtek onboard NIC
- CPU : Intel Xeon E5-4640 v1 8 Core/16 Thread
- CPU cooler : Noctua NH-U12S
- RAM : 64GB DDR3-1066 ECC RDIMM Kingston
- GPU : Nvidia Quadro 400 512MB PCI-E Video Card connected via Display Port to HDMI cable
- NIC : Intel Dual Port 4x PCIe Card (had it laying around)
- OS : ADATA SU650 120GB SSD (waiting on 32GB NVME drive)
- HDD : 1 x WDC WD50EZRZ, 1 x ST4000VN000 , 1 x WD40EZRX , 1 x SEAGATE DKS2P-H2R0SS , 2 x 1TB Laptop HDD's
- PSU : Seasonic 750WTT 80+ Gold
- Case : Enermax ECA3321B-BT w/ 5 x 120mm Case Fans
- Fan : Noctua NF-F12 120mm Fan (Brown) x 2 Push/Pull
- HBA : IBM ServeRaid M1015 46M0861 SAS/SATA PCI-e RAID Controller Cross Flashed to LSI SAS9220-8i IT Mode
- Cables : 1 x Mini SAS to 4-SATA SFF-8087 , 1 x Mini SAS 36P SFF-8087 to (4) SFF-8482 Connectors with 4P Power
- 5.25" bay conversion : Blue Anodized Aluminum 3.25" to 5.25" Tray

I have 5 of the drives connected via the HBA .. The boot drive and the 5TB drive are connected to the 2 motherboard SATA 3.0 headers.
