Snapshot => Windows Explorer

Hello,

i have a question about the snapshot feature of freenas. I use the version 8.0.3 p1. On my freenas server there is a zfs pool which is used for a cifs share. The system add auto snapshots every hour. Everthing plays fine, but i can´t see the snapshots in the windows explorer (previous version).

Can you tell me what is wrong her?

Nothing is wrong. ZFS snapshots is not the same thing as Windows Previous Versions.

Disregard the above information. I seem to have been mistaken on Windows Previous Version being able to access ZFS snapshots.

Here is the description from the manual:

Alternatively, periodic snapshots will appear as shadow copies in newer versions of Windows Explorer. Users can access the files in the shadow copy using Explorer without requiring any interaction with the FreeNAS™ graphical administrative interface.

With Opensolaris (ZFS + Cifs) there is no problem. I can see the Snapshot in the Windows Explorer.

Is it a Bug or did i configure something wrong?

thank you for your post. I have testet the workaround but i can´t see the snapshots in the windows explorer (previous version).
