So I've made several automatic snapshots over the week, where I added files and such. The server and the files on it came to a size of 32GB. Today, I wanted to test those snapshots, so I deleted the biggest file which is 31GB and wanted to restore it with a snapshot made previously today. Nothing happened, 31GB is still occupied on the disk and the folder I deleted is still gone after the rollback. What am I doing wrong?

What type of options did you select for your snapshot task? Care to share a screenshot of your snapshot settings in the GUI?
Do you have a bunch of child datasets under a parent one and set the snapshot task on the parent one?

Also it is generally not recommended to "rollback" better to just clone the snapshot that contains the data you want, share it, browse to the file, and copy it back over.

Read up on the manual for the relevant information:

My volumes/datasets look like this: http://i.imgur.com/YpwdKRD.jpg

I have these 3 periodic snapshot tasks: http://i.imgur.com/NOMKv3f.jpg

And they're all set up like this: http://i.imgur.com/5g3sbUn.jpg

This is just a test phase, I plan to have like one main shared folder that everyone uses and like 10-15 other personal folders that belong to each worker. Main intention is to prevent data loss from RansomWare. I was hoping I can rollback everything affected by RansomWare if it happens to occur.

Alright, I did what you said. Shared the cloned snapshot but I can't access it. Prompts for credentials, even if I didn't set any permissions for it. Plus I can't browse it with any of the users?

EDIT: Nevermind, started to work all of a sudden
