SMB Sharing ACL when sharing the pool rather than a DataSet

So I made a mistake and set up my SMB shares on the Pool rather than Dataset. This has worked for over a year. I no updated to TrueNAS, and was paying a little more attention and would like to setup an ACL on the SMB share but I can only find information on how to do that with a Dataset. Is there a way to do it when SMB sharing the Pool?

Setting it up pool-wide would not be the way to go here. Suggest you make a new dataset and move your data into that, so that you can properly setup ACLs where they belong.

Problem is that I have a large PLEX library that is already indexed and set up with 5 TB of data. pointing at a directory in the pool rather than data set. If I stop the PLEX server, and rename the directory then create a dataset with the old name and move all the data over. with PLEX still work now pointing into the dataset?
