Dell r730xd, 64gig, 12 drive Z2, 10gig ethernet - 12U8.1 SMB shares only.
This ONE system (I have several) has a strange quirk. If you have a drive mapped from Windows and you let it sit there with no access for about an hour, then do something simple like a "dir" - it sits there for about 10 seconds before it actually replies. It locks up the prompt or any application that is using it. After the ~10 seconds is up it pops right back and does not time out again until it has been idle (totally idle with no access) and then hangs again on next access for ~10 seconds.
I have multiple systems (all SMB) and also have a system that is an identical duplicate to this one in every way. This does not happen on any other system.
Has anyone ever seen this behaviour?
SMB log(s) do not show anything.
