So I did a clean install of TrueNAS from FreeNAS. Now I cant get anything over 15 MB/s regardless of the file type. All the hardware is the same. Network checks out at 1GB speed. Moved around CAT7 cables and checked again. No change in transfer speed for the TrueNAS box. TrueNAS to ODROID, ODROID to TrueNAS, PC to TrueNAS, TrueNAS to PC, all 15 MB/s MAX! But ODROID to PC and PC to ODROID, 111 MB/s or better. Is this an SMB issue?

Hardware:
ASRock J4205-ITX Intel Quad-Core Pentium Processor J4205 (up to 2.6GHz) Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1866 (PC3L 14900) Laptop Memory Model F3-1866C11D-16GRSL
EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3, 220-G3-0550-Y1, 80+ GOLD, 550W Fully Modular, EVGA ECO Mode with New HDB Fan, Power Supply

Clearly not a network issue. Any ideas or should I just go back to the latest FreeNAS version that I was on and wait until TrueNAS works out the issue?

It depends on how long you can wait for 12.0-U2 to land, which incorporates several SMB fixes. This is currently scheduled to ship on 2/2. If you can't wait, 11.3-U5 is still very dependable.

However, your board uses a Realtek Gigabit NIC, which is known to have poor driver support in FreeNAS/TrueNAS. Have you tried an inexpensive Intel PRO Gigabit NIC instead?

I was already at 110 MB/s transfer rates on 11.3-U5 with this same hardware. I didn't have any issues with the NIC. And per the tests, it's still performing. the board doesn't have any PCI/PCIE expansion slots anyway.

--UPDATE--

Moved system back to 11.3-U5, back to normal transfer rates.
