SMART reported errors

Hi there,
I just installed my first TrueNAS server and so far enjoying it. I have eight 6TB drives in a Dell R730 server. I am seeing the following SMART errors. Are they anything I should be concerned about?

It is going to be difficult to answer your question because you have not provided us any information about your system per the forum rules. Please provide your system information (version of TrueNAS, Motherboard, CPU, RAM amount, hard drive models) and have you been running this NAS for a period of time without issue and then the problem just happened or did you make some change and this happened, or the is the first time running this TrueNAS software ever and these problems have been here from the start.

Many SMART errors can be overlooked like the temps do not represent true temperatures. Read error rates often are invalid too depending on the drive.

Try looking at the SMART data directly using the command "smartctl -a /dev/da2 | more" and then examine the data, specifically ID 194 temperature. If that data looks incorrect then I'd think you have a controller firmware issue.

So you have an H330 flashed to HBA330 firmware? Verify it and probably reflash it if you know what you are doing. There is a thread on here specifically about flashing this controller but do not do this if you are uncomfortable and also know that it is possible to screw this up and brick your card, especially if you use the wrong firmware.

Or wait for some different advice so long as your TrueNAS system is working okay.

Something else you could try, run an older version of FreeNAS like version 11.3 or 11.1, see if the errors go away. Even 9.3 may work fine and again this is for testing purposes only to troubleshoot your problem. If the problem goes away, then it could be a firmware issue in the H330 card.
