Received a critical alert "Device: /dev/ada3, Self-Test Log error count increased from 0 to 1." While searching I found this blog post, Fixing FreeNAS error: Currently unreadable (pending) sectors, that indicates it will fix the disk. I think that I understand the steps well enough to follow them, I do not know if this is a reasonable course of action. It appears that the error is always the same block so maybe I could dd the single sector and repair the the disk.
If I repair the disk and the error is no longer reported, should I consider the disk safe? Or should I replace the disk and be done with it because it is going to fail soon.
I have a single 5 disk pool, and this is the only WD drive the others are Seagates.
