Hello everyone,
I have a RT-AC88U with merlin firmware router, I'm using an OpenVPN provider and i want too route my TrueNAS server thought the OpenVPN. Everything works but i get very very low speeds. I max my 1000/1000 line when not using the VPN. But get around 24 Mbps with the VPN on, but around 60-100 Mbps when i route my PC for example.
I'm not sure where the problem lies, when i check CPU usage on the router when i have my PC connected it goes too 100% so it's going as fast as it can. But when using the TrueNAS the CPU idles around 20-30%. It really feels like the NAS is somehow limeting or reducing the trafic but i dont understand why. I do get max speed when im not going though the VPN on the TrueNAS
PC <-> VPNrouter 100% CPU 60-100mbps <-> download
PC <-> No VPN get max speed of 1000mbps <-> download
NAS <-> VPNrouter 30% CPU 20-25% 24mbps <-> download
NAS <-> No VPN <-> max speed of 10000mbps <-> download
Anyone who can think or a reason it acts this way?
