I have a few FreeNAS VM's and we're testing pushing data to them from backup software called Novastor which is installed on a seperate windows server. Accessing the shares through file explorer on the windows server seems a bit slow. About 30 seconds from connecting to being able to access the share data. Once the data is accessed initially traversing the folder structure is quick.
There isn't a huge amount of data going to any of the devices yet as we haven't been able to resolve this connection issue. This delay seems to be causing Novastor to assume the share is disconnected before it gets a response and the backups are failing due to this.
We have an entirely separate 10G network just for sending the backups from Novastore to the FreeNAS units and are utilizing multiple instances to reduce load on any one FreeNAS.
What could possibly be the hangup that is causing this issue?
