Title speak from itself. I just build my first server and I noticed some slowing down of my internet connection when my computer is connected to my server. I tested the problem on 2 of my computer:
1. My PC - When I click on a link or open a new page, it takes roughly 1 to 3 seconds before everything appear on the page. It is instantaneous when I am not connected to my server (videos on youtube plays well on the PC)
2. Job laptop - everything seems pretty normal or a little slower than usual but nothing dramatic. Though, when I play videos on Youtube it is super laggy and frame rate is jerky.
NAS setup:
-Motherboard: ASUS Prime X570-Pro
-CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
-RAM: T-Force Vulcan DDR4 32GB (2X16GB)
-10GB/s PCIe Card: Intel X540-T2 Dual 10GB/s port ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/143592050461?var=442552216136 )
-RAIDZ1
-3X 16TB WD ULTRASTAR SATA
-1TB M.2 Cache VDev
PC setup:
-Motherboard: MSI Prestige X570 Creation ( https://www.newegg.ca/msi-prestige-x570-creation/p/N82E16813144258?Item=N82E16813144258 )
-CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
-RAM: T-Create DDR4 64GB (2X32GB)
-Windows 10
Laptop setup (msi gf6510ui):
-CPU: i5-10500H @ 2.50GHz
-RAM: 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
-Windows 10
1. The PC is connected to the server through the ethernet 10GB/s port on the native motherboard ---> to the 10GB/s PCIe Card: Intel X540-T2 Dual 10GB/s port on the server
2. The laptop is connected to the server through a usb c ethernet adapter 1GB/s (https://www.amazon.ca/-/fr/gp/product/B0109IY8PA/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=A2ECQ6PSDL32ED&psc=1) ---> to the 10GB/s PCIe Card: Intel X540-T2 Dual 10GB/s port on the server
Let me know if you would have any insight of what I can do to run my internet smoothly when my server is connected to the computer, thanks in advance!
