Hi,

Don't really know where to start, but here goes.
My NAS that i have build was installed with 8.0.2 rc1 if im not mistaking, the NAS was running perfect with no hassles at all, doing 120MB reads and writes. Suddenly one day, i wanted to update some movies and the file structure within windows takes forever to read the folders shared on my NAS. I have rebooted multiple times, i have upgrade the firmware, but still very slow access to these folders. After this happened i looked at the boot of the NAS, and it looks like the machine is scanning the drive for errors, but comes up clean the whole time, this is done now every time the NAS gets switch on. Usually it took about 30sec for the NAS to start up now with this, it take almost 10min. I'm not sure if this is the cause of the file structrs taking so long or not.

Please any help would be appreciated

Hi,
Its hard to reply with specific answer because You dont post any details of Your freenas build. I would start by checking if You have enough ram (min 4Gb). Secondly - check drives carefully - there can be some issues with them. If You have them in RAID they can resyncing thus slowing the whole system. You see - many options here.
