Hello. I am creating a new NAS for the first time, and I would like to know if the drives I plan to use should be wiped of all data before adding them to the NAS?
I am using 7 4TiB drives which are not new, so some already have data on them. It is ok for the data to be wiped out by TrueNas, and I assumed that it would be, but then I reconsidered because I realized I had no reason to make that assumption. So I am asking, does TrueNas clean off the disks when creating a new pool? Or should I do that myself ahead of time? I cant imagine that the data would be accessible after creating the pool, but what do I know?

Thanks for any help :)

So I went ahead and created the pool. Thereby discovering the answer to my question (drives ARE wiped by TrueNas).
