Should I update to 11.2 and 11.3 before 12.0 or can I go straight to 12.0?

Hello all. I am looking to get back up to date on my personal media server at home and I am on 11.0 right now. Should I go straight to 12.0 from here or should I hit 11.2 and 11.3 first? I have 2 usb drives in mirror mode for the boot and I pulled one in preparation for the upgrade so I have a backup if things don't go well and I downloaded my configuration file.

If your concern is absolute safety, I think you should go first to 11.3-U5, make certain the system is stable, then update to the latest TrueNAS. Do you have any jails? Be aware that newer versions of TrueNAS do not support the older Warden jails. If you have any Warden jails, I would update them to iocage prior to updating the system to 12.0.

At the end of the day, your data will not be at risk even if you decided to update directly to 12.0 or perform a fresh install.
