Should enabling AIO in CIFS add a line to loader.conf aio_load="YES" ? (8.0.1b2 )

Just curiosity, should enabling AIO in CIFS set the line:

aio_load="YES" 

in /boot/loader.conf?
I've toggled the switch on/off and rebooted and didn't see the change.
Is there a way to verify aio is active?
should aio.ko be in the output from kldstat? (or is it part of smbfs.ko?)

The aio module is compiled into the kernel, therefore the aio_load line wouldn't be needed. If you run kldload aio you will get a message back saying that it's already loaded. Running kldstat -v | grep aio shows it's loaded as well.
