hi,
i'm having some issues with freenas 9.2.1.7 x64.
installed on sub, attached ntfs disc with data on it.
used import volumes to import it.
added guest user to users
created new share on cifs shares with user guest, allow guest & allow only guest checked
assigned guest to guest account on smb configuration

problem is that when i try to rename folder or files on share i get an "Function not implemented"
error.
tried chown and chmod on the folder, nothing happens.
owner and group are still root:wheel

any suggestions ?
regards
gj.

I'm making a guess here, but I think the ntfs driver has only limited write support (which is probably not enabled). You're better off using a native filesystem type.

NTFS write support is not stable. Read support is only stable enough to transfer your data off the NTFS disk and onto a ZFS pool.

NTFS write has been disabled by default for a few versions now, given the nasty surprises some people had.
