I have accidentally saved over a file and for the first time had cause to use the snapshot feature. I can clone the snapshot, but I can't seem to share it. I'm sure it's a result of my lack of knowledge of shares. I'm trying to set it up as a CIFS sharepoint, but it seems to knock out the existing share (ie can't see either of them). Can CIFS have two shares under the same server? I'm using mac clients one on OS X 10.9, the other on OS X 10.7. There is a windows 7 machine on the network if it helps.

if it's only one file in question, simply go to the root of the dataset in question, then hit "cd .zfs", then you will see how to navigate amongst your snapshots, then go into the snapshotted directory in question, find the desired copy of your file, and use any standard UNIX technique (perhaps, "cp") to copy it out of there back into your main pool.

It's really that sample. No one needs to clone snapshots, or set up additional CIFS mounts.
