So i have a 10gb pice nic but it makes my pc and nas hang on boot an take 10 times longer to boot then normal im not sure what im missing. This is the card in question https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IBM-Emul...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

I have a fealing its physically damaged as when it arrived the pcie bracket was bent and the heatsink wasn't fully setted.

I am a bit of a newb to networking and server stuff so im probably missing something but i would have thought there would be some indication of what to do. im planning on retuning it and grabbing some connectx3/x2 insted but im not sure.

Even after it fully loads in my switch shows its connected but nether truenas or windows say its up.

Im using windows 10 latest update and truenas core also latest update.

Any help would be appreciated

Unless this is a rebranded Chelsio, I don't think TrueNAS has a driver for it. What's been proven to work are the Chelsios and the Intel X550s.

Probably. It's an older PCIe 2 card, and not going to break any speed records, but it's reasonable.

im planning on retuning it and grabbing some connectx3/x2 insted but im not sure.

Perhaps it would be a better idea to avail yourself of the forum knowledge on cards that actually work well, rather than randomly buying stuff and hoping for it to work. We have an entire thread that discusses the stuff that works really well.
