SFF-8088 to SFF-8088 Cable Max length

Does anyone know what the max length of a SFF-8088 cable can be?
I have a rackmount that I need to be about 20ft from my freenas server & i am having troubles finding a SFF-8088 longer than 2 meters.

10 meters, but you should avoid getting close to the max

The maximum number is also totall combined cable length, from drive controller to drive.
That means 20 feet is pretty far, close to the max when you consider the internal cable that must be there also.
Why so far?
