My server is as follows: with 2 4 TB HDH mirrored thus being 3.51 TiB avabale for data. What services would you consider a must have on your TrueNAS (SCALE) server?

I am playing with NextCloud and Plex. Not sure what i am doing as I am new to the whole TureNAS thing.

Thanks for any advise and tips and tricks.

Thanks for the reply! As a noob to TrueNAS I want to do everything! LOL..... just kidding. I'd like direction / tutorials on the *arr services. Do you know any good YouTube or site to walk me through the process? I can't seem to find any that I can follow. As mentioned, I am playing with Plex and Nextcloud but still not sure how to put my videos file so that Plex can see the library and not sure want I am doing really with Nextcloud. Still new to the whole fun world of NAS.

If you wanna go the TrueCharts (https://truecharts.org) way then there are some videos.

How to add TrueCharts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vomm8uvdCM0
How to install Plex from TrueCharts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UDUMFiaXBM

He is not adding a custom path and the video is pretty short tho.
If you want a custom path to a dataset (e.g. /mnt/poolname/Movies) you can add one at Step 5 "Storage and Persistence".

Hope this helps otherwise you can hit me up again and all can guide you.

I use neither of them because I migrated from Unraid to TrueNAS and I always used the linuxserver.io docker images. :)

I assume you have a dataset with your movies, so the only thing you have to do is to add the path in plex (Apps ---> Plex ---> Edit).

In my setup:
Like this: https://imgur.com/a/jAJclp7
/mnt/deadpool/Media/Movies ---> Host path
/movies ---> Path inside Plex Container

After that you can add a library in plex (http://what-ever-your-ip-is:34200/web).
