Hi, I'm new here to TrueNas.
I wanted to know if I needed to wipe my drives in order to use them on TrueNas. I have data on both harddrives and rather not have to back them up first if not needed. If its not needed, how do I not wipe the drives to create a pool/ activate the drives

Creating a Pool will destroy all the data on the target drives.

Your post it ambiguous. What are you implying:

A) "Do I need to manually wipe my drives before I can use them to create a ZFS pool?"
No, you don't need to do this, unless you want to be 100% certain that forensics cannot retrieve the old data from the drive's surface.

B) "I have important data on my drives, and I want to magically 'convert' this data into a ZFS pool, seamlessly on the same drives."
You cannot do this.
