I am using an ASUS B85M-E motherboard for FREENAS 9.3. I need to set the motherboard to boot from the USB memory stick rather than the DVD or hard disk. I can do this manually during system startup with the F8 key but the USB boot does not show as an option when I try to set boot priority. So when I get a power failure the server tries to boot from my data disk which has no operating system and halts. Anyone know how to set this motherboard to automatically boot from a USB stick?

This is not a FreeNAS issue, so it's not likely you'll get help with this...
I took 5 seconds to google this: boot usb drive B85M-E
and found the answer ;)

edit: spelling

In addition to what BigDave said, invest in a UPS. In the event of a power failure, you can configure your server to shutdown gracefully.

If you found a solution, why not post it? I have poured through ASUS manuals, and forums and well as performed numerous searches with no solution. I was hopeful than another FreeNAS user may have found a solution to this problem.

Did u try the USB 2 ports?

Also, I don't recommend using that board for FreeNAS. It's probably a disaster waiting to happen.
