Hi all! It has been long since i posted on these forums. Everything has been going well after all.
However, recently I have been running into some problems with the BMC and its fan management
Thus; I am planning to do a few updates to see if that resolves the problem, plus I should probably have done them them anyway
1: Update the BMC firmware
2: Update bios via OOB (I have the License)
3: Flash the onboard LSI3008 raid controller to the recommended firmware.
4: Maybe update to the TrueNAS 13 train if all other things go well
https://www.truenas.com/community/resources/lsi-9300-xx-firmware-update.145/.
Now, here is where I need some Help and clarification.
Q1: Is the i sensible course of action and order to do things?
Q2: Regarding point 3 - I have read a few guides in theflashing of raid controllers, and they all talk about the UEFI shell. Yet the instructions in the link seems to imply that this is something you do from the derver comandline? A, I reading this right?
Also Do I neeed to somehow turn the pool of before flashning? Can this be actually be done without disconnecting the drives?
Q2: I have heard that supermicro have changed their procedure around ipmi default passwords from ADMIN/ADMIN tome sdomthing Unique per board: How does this impact older boards on update?
