I'm trying to get a new FreeNAS system up and running. Bought a barebone kit from Ebay consisting of Supermicro 2U 12bay case with SAS-826EL1 backplane, LSI 9211-8i raid card and a bunch of the WD 2TB Red Pro drives. Flashed everything to latest firmware (raid card to F20 IT mode) and booted up. Upon boot-up the raid card sits at Initializing for along period of time. I come to find out whenever there's a drive in certain bays(0.1.6), it causes system to hang. Remove the drive and reboot and system boots at normal speed. I've tried different drives models in bay, same issue, tried different cables, same issue. The drive slots do work however with an LSI 9260 raid card but this card needs to go back in another machine. Any thoughts on jumpers, firmwares or anything that might be causing this issue ??

Get rid of the BIOS/UEFI extension ROM on the controller and try again. Expect the disk to be broken, anyway.
