Hi Everybody,
I'm in the process of building a new backup server of 48 x 10TB drives. I've been using windows high availability RAIDs until now. It's my maiden ZFS system, so be kind :)
There is about a TB of data changed every day that is written overnight, for which I would like to keep 14 days of snapshots. Weekly backup to tape. So nothing really demanding going on here... I don't think I need ZIL or L2ARC or definitely no deduplication, just plain ol' straight forward backup.
Can anyone share some thoughts on my setup?
Server
supermicro MBD-X11SRM-F
Intel Xeon Skylake W-2102 2.9G
2x 32GB DDR4-2666 ECC
LSI 9305-16E
2x 240GB SSD
JBOD
HGST ultrastar Data60
48x HGST He10 10TB SAS
Thank you so much!
Marum
