I am new to FreeNAS as I have only been using it for about 3 weeks now. After reading through some of the forums today I am a little worried about my network security and have a few questions I hope to get some help on.

I am running FreeNAS 9.10.2 and only using it for a Plex media server.
The only services I have enabled are S.M.A.R.T. and SMB.

I do not have a static IP address and the only remote access is for Plex.

Are there any threats I need to worry about?? Anything I could change?
Any advice would be much appreciated. thanks

Providing you keep software up-to-date and have a decent firewall and only allow traffic to your FreeNAS box that you explicitly allow, you should be okay. Just don't expose the FreeNAS UI to the Internet.

The only time I personally access the UI is from a PC on my home network.
I have Plex set up for remote access.
As for my fire wall I am just using the built in firewall on my router with medium security.
