So, I somehow screwed up the firmware update from 8.3.0 to 9.1.1. No problem, I figured: I'll just re-import my 7-disk z2 volume and restore the configs. No such luck. Now I can't access my data, and I need some help.

I tried auto-import before restoring configs (per the documentation), and for some reason it doesn't see the volume to import. When I try to import manually, I get the following dialog (see screenie), in which I can select only one drive and none of the file system options are ZFS.

If I restore configuration BEFORE importing a volume, it shows my missing volume name in the list, but it's marked as locked (see below) and attempting to unlock it for access results in error.

Is there some simple fix I'm missing? Or am I screwed?

Thanks in advance for any help. I can't access critical data until I get this fixed.

Import volume is not for importing ZFS volumes (http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Volumes#Importing_Volumes)
You need to use Auto import volume (http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Volumes#Auto_Importing_Volumes)
However, it seems your volume is encrypted. Do you have your encryption key & password?

I was afraid of that. :(

No, the USB stick with the sole copy of the key was destroyed maliciously. I thought it'd be protected in a safe, but I didn't anticipate sabotage.

Thanks for the help. I guess I'm done. Mods can lock this topic while I go cry in a corner...
