With IX now working on a platform that is tailor made for virtualization I am of the opinion that virtualization should be de-emphasized..and eventually deprecated in Core once SCALE gets to release. With the current Alpha I am having much much better success with all types of virtualization than i ever could in CORE.

Glad to hear that KVM is working well for you. It would be good to get a history of what has worked and what you needed to do.

I have more than one ticket about what turns out to be a long standing bug with libvirt in BSD loosing network connectivity..and by extension it looses connection with the webui so the only you can do is dirty down the vm and then restart it. SCALE in alpha works MUUUUUCH better than BSD(CORE) does at v12+. Windows would run for maybe a minute in TNC before loosing connection..my linux vm's it's random..but it happens..always does. Sclae..at Alpha has been much much better and if this continues I tntend to use SCALE as my hypervisor at hte very minimal. Doing some more self-research libvirt in FBSD has been problematic going back years. I know IX has been trying to squish this along with the FBSD community..but the issue remains. Once BSD can get that issue fixed then i'll be able to realize my dream of an all BSD stack from firewall to storage to virtualization..:)

We are committed to supporting both OSes, but recognize that SCALE will have an advantage for virtualization and containers. Users will get to choose.
