Hi, i got a HP ProLiant dl385p gen8 with 2x 12 Cores AMD Opteron, 192 GB DDR3 RAM, 8x SFF SAS HDD Cage with 6x 900 GB SAS Drives installed. I want to connect a 18 TB 3.5 inch SATA HDD to this Server. I found a DVD_SATA connector on the motherboard, can I use this for connecting the SATA HDD? What type of adapter am i going to need for that?
Or is there a adapter for converting the hot plug SAS connector to SATA HDDS? The SATA HDD requires 12V as far as i know, does the factory hot plug 2.5 inch SAS connector also run on 12V?
