Samba and wide link support

Hi all,

are wide links still supported in TN 13? A friend of mine runs a TN 12 and makes intensive use of them. I was reluctant to recommend upgrading his system until now for that reason.

They were never supported. In 13 we officially added them to blacklist of parameters that aren't allowed through auxiliary parameters. You can probably achieve same result safely by just nullfs-mounting the needed paths into the SMB share. This also isn't "supported", but is less risky that messing with widelinks.

Feel free to PM me if you go the nullfs mount route and run into any issues. There may be some logic that doesn't account for this possibility. I can make changes to samba VFS modules within reason.
