Still seeing the problem on the latest (9.3 08/23) build.

You have to fix it manually using the steps in the bug. Something about making the id number for samba match the one for freenas.

Yes what I was saying is you will allways have those errors unless you fix it manually. Then from that point on it won't happens anymore.

Well, actually we didn't. They appeared only last week. Unclear why as the system has been happily running for a while. We did a Windows10 upgrade on one system, that's the only change we can think of.
I'll check out the suggested workaround.

I started seeing this error after I installed Win 10. If I use windows edge to download something to my freenas I see the error
winbindd[3133]: sam_sid_to_name: possible deadlock - trying to lookup SID S-1-15-3-3624051433-2125758914-1423191267-1740899205-1073925389-3782572162-737981194

I changed the default download location to a folder on my Nas
My freenas box still works fine.
