SABnzbd permissions (CIFS) foer /var/db/sabnzbd

Hi

I have had SANznbd running OK for a week or two now suddenly it stopped working. the e downloads are not starting at all.

I have looked under connections and they are showing zero. I therefore went to Config> Servers.show details and my Giganews retention is showing zero. When I went to change this it would not save. SABnzbd comes back with "failed" the test sever button does not do anything either.

I then went to Windows and looked at my share:
Plug-ins(\\FREENAS) (P)\sabnzbd_1\var\db\sabnzbd and the owner is media and the permissions are not shown (no box shown against each attribute).

in The Jail the permissions are as follows:

which to me looks as though media is both the owner and group which is what I would expect.
I have added media (user) into media (group). Should I add the SABnzbd user (however I dont know this user number, is there a weary to find this)?

what else should I be looking at so that the Program can save the server details?

The sabnzbd plugin's default user is media (UID=816). Those ownership/permissions seem correct.

can you show permissions inside the sabnzbd folder, also restart sabnzbd and check the log

The Sabnzbd.log file is too large, i have deleted most of my queue but the log ffile is still 3.99mb is there a way to force a new file?

sabnzbd's config is writable by sabnzbd so I don't know why you can't change options in sabnzbd's interface. But, I have heard of others having this issue before, so maybe you should ask on the sabnzbd forums what the possible causes of this is.

Not sure what you're asking about the log file. Just empty it out, try to change some options, then see what is in there.

Thats what I needed to do Clear the File, Thanks. hasn't sorted the problem though. Ive tried deleting the Server and adding a new one comes up with "Server address "news.giganews.com:563" is not valid"' ill try the Sabnzbd forums.

It's sorted now.
This morning I tried pinging my sabnzbd jail ok. Then tired pinging out - no joy would not even reply at all, no output. I then checked to see if there was an update, there was so I downloaded it. Then checked to see if my SAB jail would out and it could went back to sorting my a server details and all was ok.
back up and running. Seems like my jails had a problem. It may have just needed reset!
