Replication with specific interface; resources for good backup strategies?

Hi,

Just wondering if it's possible to specify the interface I'd like to create a replication task on - I have a separate isolated storage network I'd like use for replication tasks (each TrueNAS host would have a second interface linked to this network). I just read the docs and I didn't see any reference to interface specification: https://www.truenas.com/docs/scale/dataprotection/replication/

Is TrueNAS "smart" enough, if I specify an IP on a network not in my LAN's subnet, it'll know which IF to use?

Also, anyone have any good resources for backup strategies using Free/TrueNAS (or similar zfs send/recv capabilities)? (TrueNAS Replication IS based on zfs send/recv, right?)

Use case: Some iSCSI VMFS datastores in ESXi 7.0 and NFS/SMB shares for general file storage (pictures, videos, documents, git repos, etc.). I'll have two hosts set up, one would be user-facing and the other for backups.
