I received an alert from FreeNAS that "Device: /dev/da11 [SAT], Self-Test Log error count increased from 0 to 1"

I have since ordered a replacement and it arrives today, I am curious the best way to replace it, whether I should go into the WebGUI force it offline, and then insert the new drive; or power down, replace ,power on.

Spec's:

FreeNAS-9.10.1 (d989edd)
Supermicro X9DR3-LN4F+ , dual E5-2670 @ 2.60Ghz
96GB of RAM
9211-8i , IT Phase 20
Dual 80GB Intel SSD's for boot
x7 4TB WD Red's RAIDz3
x14 2TB WD RE4's Striped RAIDz3
x14 2TB WD RE4's Striped RAIDz3
Chelsio T420-CR 10GB card
Intel quad port gigabit NIC
Supermicro 847E16-R1400LPB case

The drive in question is apart of my x7 4Tb harddrives in RAIDz3.

I offline the drive in the GUI, power down, replace the failed disk, power on, replace the missing drive in the GUI with the newly installed disk and watch it resilver. You don't have to power down if your hardware supports hotswap, but it doesn't affect my production environment to power down so that the way I go.

Edit: The docs have you offline the failed/failing drive before replacing... http://doc.freenas.org/9.10/storage.html#replacing-a-failed-drive

If you have room for the new one without removing the old one, definitely replace it without offlining the old drive first.
