it looked to me he was trying to offline da8 instead of da11 (we know he needs to offline da11 so he can wipe it)

It looks you're right, I just realized it after your post. And now it should go on.

in the "Volume Status" don't show da8 and "View Disks" show da8.

can I just shutdown the system, get da8 out and power up again the server? ( I think i don't have hot swap.. )

record the serial number of da8. power down server, remove the correct disc, and reboot

I swaped by another the same model.

The question is, can I swap the next disk that fail by the wd-red (WD40EFRX) ?
Is there any problem with wd-red being another model?
