I have an existing CIFS share that I renamed in FreeNAS. Now in Windows 10, the share shows up with both the old name and the new name, but point to the same data, so I cannot simply delete the old one. I obviously thought wrong that when I renamed it, the old one would go away. How do I get rid of the old one now?

0) Make sure you haven't mapped the old share.
then
1) Wait a while to see if it fixes itself
if (1) doesn't work then
2) Stop then restart CIFS
if (2) doesn't work then
3) Log off on client then log back in
if (3) doesn't work then
4) Reboot client

Yup, you got it. I forgot I had created a mapped drive. Rebooted the windows machine and all is well. Thanks!
