Removing Failed Disk

I have a failed disk in a mirror 1 pool. I am trying to follow the instructions from page 126 of the manual. when I go to
Storage → Volumes → View Volumes → Volume Status
It shows the drive as removed. when I highlight it the only option available to me is to "replace". No "OFFLINE" option is available for this drive. What should I do? TIA

I rebooted the server and went thru the steps again. This time the "OFFLINE" option was available. I successfully replace the failed drive.
