Hi guys,

Just wondering if it's possible to remove drives from a RAID0 pool?

I previously had some issues with two of the SATA3 ports on my board, so I've only been using 6 ports (in RAID10) instead of 8.

I'm wanting to try adding in the extra two ports in again (another striped mirror set) to expand the RAID10 pool, but if I get problems I would want to be able to remove the two drives and go back to 6.

Is this possible?

Cheers

Impossible without total data loss, to the best of my knowledge.

Since you just want to verify that they're working, how about creating a new pool with just the 1 mirrored set? Stress test it (the new pool with the drives/ports in question) and then if those ports work properly, destroy the test pool and expand your original pool.
