Anyone know what would cause the settings and notes panels to be totally blank when displayed? The options for settings are still there but you have to click on them "blind".

Yes. I posted an inquiry there, however since the problem is occurring with the freenas plugin version I inquired here in case it was a known issue. This was on a fresh install of freenas 9.3 and the couchpotato plugin. There was always the possibility it might have to do with the theme that was installed with the plugin.

couchpotato seems to have an issue with qupzilla browser. The blank menu's go away in other browsers.
